The game no longer has an auto save feature. Here's an example of what you would see in your Saves folder: (Click image to see larger view) Slot_0 (Backup 0) - Newest backup to the main save. Slot_00000002.save (Main/Newest Current Save) The game creates 5 backup files of your game save. If you open your saves folder, you will see a list of save files. If you accidentally delete a saved game, there is still hope to restore it. Click on a game save, click the Recover Save button (in the lower right corner of the menu). In-game and rename the file via the Saves folder.Ĭlick the Load game button - If you've previously saved a game you should be able to find a previously saved game in the Load Game Menu. There are two ways to get back to a previous save. Go Back to Previous Save or Rename a Saved Game: As the game actually doesn't allow you to save the game at the lot your building on. If you save the game while building, regardless of what you're building - when you go to load that saved game, it will load the family you previously played. A suggested amount is 25 or less, and keep the older saves in a folder on the desktop or backup media of choice. As having too many saved games can cause issues with the saving system. *Important Note:* It it best not to have too many saved games in the Saves folder. It's basically just going back to a previous save. Renaming a save file should not hurt relationships, career status or the game itself. We're not exactly sure why it happens, but it might have something to do with the way the game saves the files.
You will want to rename it, so the game can recognize it again. Sometimes you want to play a specific game save, but the game doesn't recognize the file.
